findloc.ai is a free global research tool for people thinking about where to open a business. It exists because Google Maps is built for consumers finding a place to go — not for entrepreneurs evaluating where to set up shop.
What it does
- · Maps every commercial point in any city worldwide using live OpenStreetMap data.
- · Evaluates a clicked block through the lens of your specific business type (28 categories supported).
- · Surfaces what Google can’t: gaps, competition density, complementary clusters, side-by-side comparisons.
- · Generates research guides for 63 major cities — no signup required.
Where the data comes from
All points-of-interest, roads, parking, transit and residential data come from OpenStreetMap contributors via the Overpass API. OSM data is updated continuously by volunteers; coverage and freshness vary by region. We cache responses at the edge for 7 days to keep the site fast.
Privacy

- · We do not store anything you click on or any city you search for.
- · Map tiles are served from our own proxy so third parties don’t see your IP.
Limitations — please read
findloc.ai is a research starting point, not investment advice. OSM coverage varies wildly by country, foot-traffic numbers shown are estimates not real counts, and no online tool replaces walking the block at 8am and 8pm. Use this to narrow your shortlist — not to finalise it.
